Venerable Vimala (Taze Sayadaw)

Born 8 February 1950, Venerable Vimala (Taze Sayadaw) was ordained as samanera at age 9 by ET-Taw Village Sayadaw, The Most Venerable Nandiya as preceptor, and began his Bhuddhist Pali literratury studies. 

At age 19, while residing at the Nandayama monastery, Shwe-bo Town, he studied and passed elementary, intermediate and advanced levels of pali studies. he was ordained as a Bhikkhu at age of 20. 

From his first vassa, he continued with his Pali studies at Dakkinayama Monastery, Mandalay. In 1975, at age 29, Sayadaw was awarded the title of Sasanadhaja Dhammacariya by Myanmar government. As the resident abbot at Ashokayama Monastery in Mandalay, he taught and also studied pali literatures. In 1997, he began his further studies at the Pali Department of Banaras Hindu University (B.H.U.), Vanarasi, India. in 1999, at age 49, he received his M.A. in pali literature (First Class). 

In 2002, Sayadaw approached the Most venerable Pa-Auk Tawya Sayadaw Bhaddanta Acinna for guidance, under whim he learnt and practised Samatha and Vipassana meditation. Later on, he assisted at the Pa-Auk Tawya Meditation Center, Mawlamyine as a meditation teacher. Sayadaw was also an advisor at Mawlamyine Township Sangha Organization (Shwe Kyin). 

Sayadaw is a senior Committee member of the Pa-auk Tawya Meditation Center Mawlamyine. He is presently the Resident Teacher at Pa-auk Tawya Meditation Center, Thailand (Angthong International Meditation Center)

Venerable Kumarabhivamsa

1975 Born in Kaw Lin Township, Sagaing Division, Myanmar. 

1988 Ordained as Novice in Kaw Lin Township, Sagaing Division, Myanmar. 

1995 Received Higher Ordination in Bahan Township, Yangon, Myanmar.  

1988-1993 Studied Primary Buddhist Scripture in Kaw Lin Township, Sagaing Division, Myanmar. 

1994-1998 Studied Advance Buddhist Scriptures at Buddhist Education Centre in Yangon, Myanmar. 

1998 Obtaind Dhammacariya Degree. 

1999 Became Teacher at Buddhist Education Centre in Yangon, Myanmar.  

2001-2004 Continued study Advance Buddhist Scriptures and taught to senior Monks 

at Buddhist Education Centre in Mandalay, Myanmar.  

2003 Obtaind Abhivamsa(Master Degree of Relegion)   from Yangon, Myanmar. 

2004-2005 Practiced Meditation at Pa-auk Tawya Meditation Centre in Mandalay, Myanmar. 

2005-2010 Taught to senior Monks at Buddhist Education Centre in Mandalay, Myanmar. 

2010-2011 Continue his Meditation Practice at Pa-auk Tawya Meditation Centre (Main), 

Mon State, Myanmar.  

2012 Spend Rain Retreat at Indonesia, Visit to Singapore for Dhamma. 

2013 Attend to Meditation Teacher course conducted at pa-auk Tawya Meditation branch 

In Pyin Oo Lwin Township, Mandalay Division, Myanmar. 

2013-2014 Practice, Teach Buddha’s teachings and spend rains retreat in Taiwan.  

2015-present Practice, Teach Buddha’s teachings and spend rains retreat at Pa-auk Tawya Meditation centre, Pyin Oo Lwin Township, Mandalay Division, Myanmar.

Bhikkhu Revata

Bhikkhu Revata was born in 1971 in Mawlamyine, Myanmar. He is the eighth son of OoThāTun and Daw Mya Sein. He received his bachelor’s degree from Yangon University in 1994 and independently taught computer technology for five years. He was ordained as a Theravādabhikkhu at Pa-Auk Tawya in 1999, with the Most Venerable U Ācinna, the Pa-Auk Sayadaw, as his preceptor. He has studied the Pāli scriptures and commentaries and speaks Burmese, English, and Thai. 

After practising meditation under the guidance of the Most Venerable Pa-Auk Sayadaw, Sayadaw U Cittara, and Sayadaw U Sīla, in 2002 he began teaching meditation to local and foreign yogis, both ordained and lay, and is currently an assistant teacher of the Pa-Auk Sayadaw. He is responsible for teaching local and foreign yogis and for training successful practitioners to teach meditation themselves. 

A distinguished meditator and teacher, he has taught extensively both in Myanmar and abroad. He has conducted meditation retreats in China, Indonesia, South Korea, America, Latvia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. He has written four books in his native language, three of them in collaboration with the Most Venerable Pa-Auk Sayadaw. 

The collections of Bhante’s teachings and Dhamma talks have been (published) in English under the titles of Awaken, O World! (2006), The Discipline Within (2008), Bearers of the Burden (2011), Expectation Derived from One’s Own Points of View (2015), A Journey of Self-Discovery (2015), and The Truth Taught by All the Buddhas (2016). His books have been translated into Korean, Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese.
