Angthong International Meditation Center is a branch of Pa Auk Tawya International Forest Monastery in Myanmar. The meditation center is being supported and organized by On the Path of The Buddha Foundation which is founded by Mrs. Kingkarn Arakputhanan, president of the foundation.





Teaching
The system of meditation taught at Pa-Auk Tawya is based on the instructions by The Buddha as found in the Tipiṭaka (the Pāli Canon) and its commentaries. The system comprises the threefold training of strict observance of precepts (sīla), developing concentration(samādhi), as a basis for attaining wisdom (paññā).

About Our Center
FAQ
Lodging and daily meals are free of charge for all Monks, Novices, and Mae Chis. For general practitioners, we kindly request a contribution of 300 THB per day to support the foundation’s sustainability, which directly covers costs for meals, kitchen and housekeeping staff, and electricity. Furthermore, if you wish to offer a meal or make a donation for the upkeep of the monastery, arrangements can be made through the Monastery Office.
Before you begin your journey to learn and practise the Buddha’s Teaching at Pa-Auk Tawya, you may wish to find out more information about the Teaching Meditation at Pa-Auk
All meditators need to seek approval from the Monastery before they are allowed to stay and practise in the Monastery. You should understand more about the conditions of the Monastery and read the Rules and Regulations for Foreign Meditators before you send in your application in the prescribed form. This information can be obtained under the Residence and Application section of the website.
Guidelines for Ordination and Dharma Practice
Whether you have previously been ordained as a Buddhist nun (Mae Chi) or are seeking ordination for the first time, we welcome you to study and practice Dharma at our center. Please note the following essential requirements:
Ordination Standards: All practitioners must be ordained under the Thai Sangha assembly as a Thai Mae Chi, wearing the traditional white robes in strict accordance with the regulations of the National Office of Buddhism.
Long-term Stay & Visa Extensions: If you wish to extend your practice and stay with us for longer than two months, an official application must be submitted to the National Office of Buddhism to secure approval for a long-term visa extension.
