Dharma Retreat Details: Anapanasati and Mahasatipatthana Sutta

General Information

  • Retreat Dates: June 3 – 13, 2026
  • Registration: June 3, before 11:00 AM
  • Venue: Main Dhamma Hall, Ang Thong International Dhamma Center, Champa Lo Sub-district, Mueang District, Ang Thong Province
  • Language: Teachings will be delivered in English with Thai translation
  • Eligibility: Open to practitioners aged between 15 – 85 years old

Summary of Rules and Regulations

  • Precepts: Practitioners are expected to observe the 8 Precepts. (However, those who need to take medication in the evening may observe the 5 Precepts.)
  • Mobile Phones: The center will collect and keep your mobile phones during the retreat to avoid any disturbances to your practice.
  • Electronic Devices: Computers and other communication devices are strictly prohibited during the retreat. If you bring them, the center’s staff will not take responsibility for safekeeping; you must manage and secure your own personal property.
  • Attendance & Commitment: Participants must attend all practice sessions and Dhamma talks throughout the entire duration of the retreat.
    • Registration closes at 1:00 PM on the opening day; late arrivals will not be permitted to join (unless a necessary reason is communicated to the retreat manager in advance).
    • Early departures before the closing date of the retreat are not allowed.
  • Noble Silence: Participants must maintain strict silence throughout the retreat to ensure a peaceful environment for all practitioners.
  • Orientation: Detailed rules and regulations of the center will be announced by the retreat manager during the orientation session on the opening day at 12:30 PM, prior to the official retreat commencement at 1:00 PM.

Expenses and Donations

  • Course Fee: Ang Thong International Dhamma Center does not charge any fees for scheduled retreats on its official calendar.
  • Single Room Option: If you prefer a private single room, there is a fee of 200 THB per day to cover electricity and housekeeping expenses.
  • Donations: You are welcome to contribute donations for meals, electricity, housekeeping, and venue maintenance after the conclusion of the retreat.

Important Note: These regulations are established to foster a supportive, peaceful, and harmonious environment ($Sappaya$) for all practitioners. In the event of a violation of these rules, the center reserves the right to decline future retreat applications from the individual.
